Why solar energy?

China’s energy market is growing rapidly

Since 2009, China has been the world’s largest consumer of energy. The installed capacity is expected to double from 2016 to 2040.

The country’s legacy investments primarily in coal as a source of energy combined with the rapidly growing energy demand pose a huge environmental challenge with negative consequences reaching far beyond China’s own borders. In addition to air pollution, which causes breathing difficulties for many of China’s residents, coal combustion leads to extensive carbon dioxide emissions, climate change and eventually environmental destruction globally.

China is the world’s largest market for solar energy

The Chinese government has high goals in terms of solar energy expansion and the market is growing rapidly. In 2015, the country became the world’s largest producer of solar power. By 2017, China accounted for 52 per cent of all solar energy installed in the world.

In 2016 and 2017, the Chinese government’s annual targets were surpassed by a large margin as 34,5 and 52 gigawatts of electricity producing solar energy were installed, to be compared with the goals of 15-20 and 40 gigawatt for each respective year. In 2018, 44,3 gigawatts of solar electricity were installed corresponding to 41,8 per cent of all solar power installed globally that year.

With a total of 174,6 gigawatts of solar energy capacity for electricity production installed, the target of 150 gigawatts set for 2020 has already been surpassed. Market experts project that total installed solar energy for electricity production in China will reach 250 gigawatts by 2020.

Advanced Soltech is a long term sustainable, well-tried and scalable business concept

Since 2014, we contribute to sustainable development of the rapidly growing energy market in China by providing solar power solutions to medium-sized and large private public companies and state-owned companies and organisations such as universities. We finance, build, own and manage solar cell facilities for our clients who commit on long contracts to buy all the electricity that the plants produce.

From 2015 to 2019, we expanded rapidly. Advanced Soltech now have an installed capacity of over 100 megawatts providing electricity to a total of 92 clients in China.
